Saint Lorraine Dance Company (established 2007) is a neo-modern dance company based in San Antonio, Texas. Psychologically modern in that the work is about the "inner landscape," it is also neo in that its movement does not adhere to a codified modern dance technique but respectfully echoes it through Ms. Lorraine's unique and sensual movement vocabulary.
Approaching the choreographic process through a female perspective, Ms. Lorraine makes work about female experience on female bodies. In acknowledging female archetypal roles such as: virgin, mother, whore and "other," Ms. Lorraine investigates these universal archetypes through contemporary and personal situations.
